{"id":2735,"date":"2026-05-07T14:28:37","date_gmt":"2026-05-07T12:28:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/transparency.com.al\/?p=2735"},"modified":"2026-05-07T14:38:12","modified_gmt":"2026-05-07T12:38:12","slug":"tfl-contributes-to-discussions-on-public-expenditure-reform-and-participatory-budgeting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/transparency.com.al\/en\/tfl-contributes-to-discussions-on-public-expenditure-reform-and-participatory-budgeting\/","title":{"rendered":"TFL contributes to discussions on public expenditure reform and participatory budgeting"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Together for Life (TFL) participated in the conference \u201cTowards More Effective Public Spending: EU-Aligned Reforms in Public Investment Management and Spending Reviews\u201d, organized by the Ministry of Finance in cooperation with the Delegation of the European Union to Albania, within the framework of the \u201cEU for Good Governance\u201d project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The conference brought together representatives from the Delegation of the European Union to Albania, the Parliament of Albania, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Health and Social Protection, as well as national and international experts, who discussed reforms in public financial management, public investments, and the importance of spending reviews in enhancing efficiency, transparency, and results-oriented public policies for citizens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Invited as one of the panel speakers in the session \u201cFrom Spending to Results: How Spending Reviews Can Help\u201d, TFL Project Manager Alma Lahe shared the organization\u2019s longstanding experience in monitoring the annual healthcare budget. She emphasized that civil society plays a key role in connecting public budget analysis with its real impact on citizens\u2019 lives, contributing to the delivery of higher-quality, sustainable, accessible, and affordable services for all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">TFL highlighted the importance of meaningful and genuine civil society participation in the planning, review, and monitoring of public budgets, beyond formal consultation mechanisms.
